On March 25, 2010 we held a fundraiser at The Box in New York City and raised $29,330, nearly doubling our intended goal. Our fundraiser helped kick-start the Creative Arts Therapies programs for The Phoebe H. Stein Child Life Program of The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx. The program has helped tens of thousands of children since its inception in the 1970’s. The funds we raised went directly to these very successful programs of the Child Life Program:
- Musicians On Call - brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of children to promote and complement the healing process for patients, families, and caregivers.
- Beads of Courage - provides arts-in-medicine programs for children with serious illnesses.
- Medical play teaching dolls, puppets and equipment - helps young patients begin to understand their medical treatment and cope with their fears.
In the planning of our event, we also donated multiple truck loads of toys to the children through our Toy Drive.
This special night was a real joy and an unforgettable experience for all those in attendance at The Box in lower Manhattan - the pictures above speak for themselves.
