About the Liberty Cafe Soup Kitchen

The Liberty Cafe is a soup kitchen in East New York that serves 400 people eery single day. It is owned and operated by Pastor Leo Karl. He believes that just because people are homeless, it doesn’t mean they should not be treated with respect.

He single-handedly built an industrial refrigerator to house all the donated produce, and he now plans to build an industrial freezer to house the donated poultry and meat. This project will take about 30 days to complete at the cost of $10,000. That’s where we come in- we are raising that money for this incredible soup kitchen!

Leo Karl explains his plan to build his own freezer & gives us a tour of his facility
